B29 · 700 Lower SMH (d) SDL
B29 is a 3GPP LTE (4G) band (700 Lower SMH (d) SDL), SDL duplex, downlink only, 717–728 MHz. The whole band sits below 1 GHz, so it is a coverage layer: it travels far and gets through walls, deciding rural and indoor signal. Of the 155 networks we check, 2 use it (Canada).12

What it means for IoT devices
- For IoT devices headed to Canada, support B29: it is a coverage layer, and without it indoor and rural signal drops noticeably.
- Downlink only (supplemental): it works only aggregated with another band, never on its own for uplink.
Our dongles (MF833V, Dongle 400, F40) do not support B29.
