B42 · 3500
B42 is a 3GPP LTE (4G) band (3500), TDD duplex, uplink 3400–3600 MHz and downlink 3400–3600 MHz. It is a capacity layer: wide and fast, with shorter reach than the low bands. Of the 155 networks we check, 2 use it (Japan).12

What it means for IoT devices
- B42 adds capacity in Japan: it raises city speeds, but coverage comes from the low bands.
- This is a TDD band: FDD-only modules cannot use it.
Our dongles (MF833V, Dongle 400, F40) do not support B42.
