B46 · 5 GHz unlicensed (LAA)
B46 is a 3GPP LTE (4G) band (5 GHz unlicensed (LAA)), TDD duplex, uplink 5150–5925 MHz and downlink 5150–5925 MHz. It is a capacity layer: wide and fast, with shorter reach than the low bands. Of the 155 networks we check, 1 use it (United States).12

What it means for IoT devices
- B46 adds capacity in United States: it raises city speeds, but coverage comes from the low bands.
- This is a TDD band: FDD-only modules cannot use it.
Our dongles (MF833V, Dongle 400, F40) do not support B46.
