n79 · 4700 C-Band
n79 is a 3GPP 5G NR band (4700 C-Band), TDD duplex, uplink 4400–5000 MHz and downlink 4400–5000 MHz. It is a capacity layer: wide and fast, with shorter reach than the low bands. Of the 155 networks we check, 3 use it (China, Japan).12

What it means for IoT devices
- n79 adds capacity in China, Japan: it raises city speeds, but coverage comes from the low bands.
- This is a TDD band: FDD-only modules cannot use it.
Our dongles (MF833V, Dongle 400, F40) do not support n79.
