Network access: long-term roaming
Many globally deployed IoT devices use multi-network roaming SIMs that can attach to several networks in a country, but some countries restrict long-term roaming by foreign SIMs. A local SIM roaming domestically is not affected.
◐ No legal ban; it depends on the operators: EU rules do not ban it; long-term roaming depends on wholesale roaming agreements between operators. Agreements allowing it have grown in number, but some operators still refuse.23
