Network access: long-term roaming
Many globally deployed IoT devices use multi-network roaming SIMs that can attach to several networks in a country, but some countries restrict long-term roaming by foreign SIMs. A local SIM roaming domestically is not affected.
⚠ Long-term roaming by foreign SIMs is not allowed: India tightly restricts long-term roaming by foreign SIMs: several IoT connectivity providers list it among countries that ban it or make it practically impossible (Com4 cites a three-year limit), local KYC rules apply, and deployments usually go through Indian operators.234
